It is no secret that North Dakota has jumped on the map in recent years in oil production.

In 2006, ND ranked 9th in production and jumped to Number 4 in 2009.

With the advances in horizontal drilling techniques, it is no surprise that ND will soon surpass California for the number 3 spot.

In 2010 alone, ND pumped a whopping 113 Million barrels of crude.

Forecasters say that number should be topped by more than 20% in 2011.
